#26 from Charleston SC,  as Independent State usage -- after secession but before the elimination of postal service between north and south.  Charleston DCDS of March 1, 1861, stamp with circular grid killer just barely tied.  Clean vertical file fold, outer cover only with docketing.  Secession occurred on December 20, 1860.
