#151
Athens, Ohio, May 1, 1827 straightline, 25 cent rate to Massachusetts.  Marking is well struck but cover is toned and has some edge wear and ink erosion.  Small piece of paper missing in the rate; the paper is only folded at lower left and is not missing, though there is a tear perhaps caused by the ink erosion.  Nice Ohio straightline.  Personal letter content; fragile due to splits along folds.

#155
1 cent impert, Scott #314, used single on greetings postcard from Chandlersville, Ohio, January 1909.  Strange to see an imperf from a small town like this on personal mail, but here it is.  Stamp has a small "bite" at upper right corner.  Nice usage.

#202
Legal size cover, 4x first class rate, from Cincinnati to Fredrick Sta., Iowa, with 12 cent 1861 issue (Scott #69).  Target cancel on stamp, tie is questionable but stamp appears to belong on cover, some overall soiling and edge tears.
$75

#138
1827 Cleveland OH boxed straightline handstamp, the first of several types with all capital letters and no italics, 25 cent rate to CT, personal letter, perfectly struck.  Attractive example of this marking.

#144
Scarce August 1870 cover from Louisville, Ohio, star cancel and large postmark with "Stark County in dial, scarce for county name to appear in this vintage cover.

#142
1872 Upper Sandusky OH to Paris, France with 10 cent 1861 issue (Scott #68), various additional postmarks -- all on the face of the cover -- including a New York creit marking, two French markings, a London transit, and a forwarder's marking.  No backstamps, backflap removed and small bite at top from that removal.
$100
#203
1927 College of Wooster Bulletin, a newsletter, mailed from Wooster to Canada, with a 2 cent 4th-bureau coil.  The bulletin was entered in the US as second-class mail.  Although the first-class rate was 2 cents to Canada in 1927, it is also possible that this is indeed 2nd class to Canada.  Either way, still a very interesting usage.
